Praia da Comporta is the entry point to the Tróia/Comporta peninsula coastline: wide flat sand, low dunes covered in beach iceplant, and pine forest stretching inland. The landscape is deliberately empty — the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve to the north imposes strict building limits.
Atlantic, west-facing, moderate surf, very white sand. Traditional fishing boats still work the shore. About 1h15 from Lisbon via the Vasco da Gama bridge and A2 motorway; free parking next to the beach support building. Quieter and windier outside of August.
