Praia da Mareta is the main beach of Sagres village at Portugal's southwest tip, south-facing and relatively sheltered from the heavy Atlantic swell that hits the municipality's west coast. Some northwest summer wind reaches it but it stays calmer than the nearby Costa Vicentina beaches.
Medium-sized sand, with local restaurants along the front. A few minutes' walk from Sagres town centre and its Renaissance-era fortress. A natural starting point for visiting Cape St. Vincent, mainland Europe's southwesternmost point, about 6 km to the west.
