Praia de Odeceixe forms at the mouth of the Seixe stream and geographically marks the boundary between the Alentejo and the Algarve. It uniquely offers two distinct bathing environments in the same place: the open Atlantic to the west, with consistent surf, and the freshwater stream to the east, shallow and calm, ideal for children.
Odeceixe village, on the clifftop upstream, retains a traditional scale with whitewashed houses and a windmill at the highest point. Part of the Southwest Alentejo Natural Park. Narrow road access; free parking on the beach approach road.
