Praia de Olhos de Água takes its name ("water eyes") from the freshwater springs that emerge through the sand at low tide, visible as small circular "eyes" where groundwater surfaces — a geological feature that has supported local fishing for centuries.
The village retains its original scale, with low houses stepping down to the sand and fishing boats moored against the rocks. Compact sand framed by cliffs, usually calm sea. Local seafood is a regional reference. About 8 km east of Albufeira; parking limited in the village, alternatives at nearby hotel lots.
