Praia da Rocha runs for over a kilometre of continuous sand along Portimão's seafront, with the landscape dominated by limestone towers and rocky outcrops rising from the beach — the feature that gave the beach its name ("rocha" = rock).
It's historically among the most developed beaches in the Algarve, backed by a pedestrian promenade, dozens of restaurants and the Santa Catarina fortress marking the eastern end. The sea is usually calm in summer. Consistently Blue Flag-certified. Easy car access from central Portimão with ample parking.
